How to Remove Skin Tags at Home
68Safely Remove Skin Tags at Home with Ease
Whether it is as small as a tiny pimple or as large as a marble, anyone who has been bothered by skin tags will attest to the fact that they are an embarrassing and unsightly problem.
So how to remove skin tags? Well, there are a variety of ways but the most obvious thing to do is make an appointment with your dermatologist and have them removed. However, you may find that to be the most difficult or problematic solution if you have no insurance or if your insurance company decides this is not a needed procedure and they refuse to pay. If you don't mind a large bill then the doctor is still probably the best choice.
Otherwise, a home remedy is in order. Thankfully there are a number of ways you can achieve this in the comfort of your home.
One of the most popular home remedies is to use a small piece of string or thread or even a tiny rubber band to tie around the tag. This works by cutting off the blood supply, and eventually it will turn black and simply fall right off. This method will definitely work but the problem is that sometimes it can be a bit painful as it goes through the process before falling off. Those that don't mind a little discomfort should have no problem.
If you decide you'd rather not use a home remedy to remove your skin tags you may be relieved to know that these little growths, although not very pretty, are hardly ever anything dangerous. They are almost always benign so, if they are not bothering you too much, you can safely leave them alone.

Can You Remove Skin Tags Without Having to Go Through a Surgical Procedure?
Do you have these annoying growths under your arm or on your neck or perhaps even in your private area? Would you like to know how to get rid of skin tags without a surgical procedure?
Now, granted, we are not talking about a big complicated surgery of course, but just referring to a visit to the physician to have the tags removed.
Almost everyone would want to avoid that except those who go strictly "by the book" and would never think of trying any home remedies for removing these pesky things.
So here's the thing, you really don't have to go to the doctor, you can simply use any one of a number of methods on your own. Here are a few things you can try:
1. Tie a piece of thread around the tag and wait for it to fall off. The pros of this is you can do it on your own and you don't have to spend any money. Cons are it is often painful until they fall off, and you are never sure how long you'll have to wait.
2. Use nail polish. This is a new one that I've recently heard about so I can't vouch for it. Supposedly you can put clear fingernail polish on the tag and eventually it will fall off. The advantage again is it is a DIY method. Disadvantage is I'm not too sure this will work.
3. Cut it off yourself. This to me is the easiest way to handle this problem. I've done it myself and it does work. So that is the good. The "bad" is that it hurts! But if you are in a hurry this is the way to go. Only use this method for very small tags though.
So yes, you can get rid of skin tags at home without having any surgical procedures but there are pros and cons to each possible treatment.
I would like to note that if your skin tag is located on your eyelids you it is really preferable to see your doctor and have them removed there.

Thanks PK!! I had a skin tag under my breast that was grossing me out! I was tempted to cut it off myself but was scared, not knowing what to expect. I sterlized my sharpest scissors and went for it. There was little or no pain and took a minute or two to bleed at all....kind of like a razor cut- with less pain. Thanks PK!! :)

I had two small skin tags on my stomach and one under my arm that bothered me for quite awhile. Then one day I thought, "I wonder what would happen if I just cut these things off?" I got a sharp pair of scissors, and chopped one off. It hurt for a second and it bleed more than I thought it would, nothing a little tissue couldn't handle. I cut the other two off and covered then with bandaids for a bit. I am glad I did it and I am now tag free. I don't think that I would have done it that way if they had been any bigger. But I can say, cutting off a little skin tag is no big deal. PK from SC
